History:
"The Spartan state, founded around the 9th century BC, was one of the earliest states in Ancient Greece. Spartan warriors were famous for their strict training and military discipline. Amongst other weapons for hand-to-hand combat, they used a helmet, a shield - the weapon which gave its name to the Hoplite soldiers - a spear, a main weapon and this characteristically short sword."

It is a short, double-edged sword.
The hilt consists of a one-piece wooden grip and pommel. Flat wrought iron cross-guard with short quillons.
The blade is narrower at the base than at its point, with a riser running along the centre from beginning to end of the blade.
