History:

"The Roman sword par excellence. Of Iberian origin, it was adopted by the Roman legions at the time of the Second Punic War. Wide and short, it was a weapon used in hand-to-hand combat."

Craftsmen Records:

It consists of a one-piece blade which is rhomboidal in cross-section, with a waist and without fullers or decoration.

The tang was an extension of the blade which ran through the hilt. The end of the tang was riveted to the pommel with a washer or a decorative stud
